PICKLEBALL SUPER LEAGUE 2018 Guidelines & General Information

 Tournament Guidelines

• PICKLEBALL SUPER LEAGUE 2018 is organized under the auspices of All India Pickleball Association (AIPA). All legal rights reserved
• PICKLEBALL SUPER LEAGUE 2018 shall feature 6 Teams, 3 Categories and 5 Matches in each tie

·       Each Team shall consist of the following players:

o   2 Men Players

o   2 Women Players

o   2 Boys U25 Player

The categories, matches, and order of play would be as follows:

o   Match1: Men/Boys Doubles v Men/Boys Doubles

o   Match2: Mixed Doubles v Mixed Doubles

o   Match3: Open Singles v Open Singles

o   Match4: Men/Boys Doubles v Men/Boys Doubles

o   Match5: Mixed Doubles v Mixed Doubles 

·       Conditions: League Stage

o   Each player must play at least 1 match (singles or doubles) in a tie

o   A player cannot play more than 2 matches in a tie

o   Only 1 player of the pair can be repeated in Match 1 & 4 and Match 2 & 5

o   Combined total number of matches played by both the women should be a minimum 11 matches in the entire league stage

o   Any two male players (out of a total of 4 - Men/Boys) can play a maximum 9 matches each (including singles and doubles) for the league stage

·       Conditions: Knock Out Stage

o   Each player must play at least 1 match (singles or doubles) in a tie

o   A player cannot play more than 2 matches in a tie

o   Only 1 player of the pair can be repeated in Match 1 & 4 and Match 2 & 5

·       Rules of the Game

o   Each Match to be played for 3 Games compulsorily, irrespective of the result after 2 Games

o   Each Game won gives the team 1 Point

o   Each Game to be played on “race to 11 points” on Rally Point System

o   30 Secs Time Out can be availed by each team once a match, though not compulsory

·       Paddle Play

o   The PICKLEBALL SUPER LEAGUE Paddle Play allows a team to substitute one of its players in a doubles match with any other player from its own team for precisely 2 consecutive points. It may only be exercised by the team which is serving at that point in the game

o   However, if the team which has opted for Paddle Play loses the 1^st point, the opposite team has the right to opt for their “Paddle Play”. In this case, the player replaced by the 1^st team continues to play the second point in spite of the team not serving

o   Each team may use it only once in each doubles match

• All matches must be played in the league stage irrespective of the result as each game won gives the team 1 Point
• Semi-Finals & Finals will be played on Knock Out basis. Team reaching 8 points first, wins the tie

Team Sheets

• Each Team shall submit its Team Sheet to the Referee 30 minutes prior to the start of the Tie. The Team Sheet shall list the names of its Players competing in each Match according to the order of play
• After the Team Sheet has been validated by the Referee, a Team cannot make any changes to its nominated Players for any Match
