RULES Overview NPC Team League

Play will be on the designated evening and time advertised for your league division and according to the schedule.  Each team must have a captain who is responsible for determining which team members will participate in the weekly matches and exchanging this information with the opposing captain. The captain will also be responsible for submitting scores at the conclusion of the match to the league administrator.  Scores may be submitted to the league administrator by text or email.  Pete’s Cell is 239-848-6943 and his email is Petedpickleballcoaching@gmail.com

Please be sure to put NPC league and the division you are participating in within the Subject Line.  A league score sheet will be provided to all captains that may be used for keeping score.

Rosters will be comprised of up to 10 players with a minimum of 8 players at the designated skill level for the division of the league in which they are participating.  Players can sign up as a team or individually as space allows.  Players will pay their league fee individually and a team has a guaranteed spot once all players have filled out their registration forms, completed their liability waiver, made their league fee payment and registered for a free account in the software if they don’t already have one.  Teams may not use a player that is on the roster of another team, doing so will result in a loss of the match. If you have not filled your 8 roster spots, and you need a sub, you can add them with Pete mid-season but it must be done prior to the match, and the person cannot be on another team's roster. Only players who have played in a minimum of one regular-season match are eligible for playoffs, even if they are on the roster. This will prevent playoff day ringers. Rosters for all teams will be provided to the league administrator prior to the season start date. Updates and additions to rosters, if allowed by rule, will be sent to in writing and discussed with the league administrator prior to players being allowed to participate. Approval of this is required for additions to be allowed and must occur before weekly league play.  Players being added need to have a registration form submitted, a liability waiver filled out and be registered in the league software https://www.pickleball.global/

A league match will be played for 3 total team points each week.   Six players from your roster will compete for your team in each league match designated as the A, B, & C matches.  Each of the six players participating in a league match will play in one of those matches.  All three matches will play simultaneously. The team that wins two out of the three points wins the match for the week.  All points will be accrued towards the final regular season standings and will help determine seeding for the playoff tournament at the end of the season.  All teams participating in the league will participate in the end of season tournament.

Matches will be best two out of three sets to 15pts win by 1pt.  Players will switch sides at 8 points.  All matches will be allowed one, 60-second timeout per team, per set. The timeout can be called by the players on the court or by the Captain or the Captain's designee from the sidelines. There will be no coaching during the match, only on timeouts and changeovers.

In the event of an injury or a player no-showing, please ensure that the other matches are still completed.  A team needs to win 2 out of 3 matches to win the league  night so an injury or no show does not mean that a team can’t still win a league match. We will use the USAPA official rules set (https://www.usapa.org/docs/ifp/USAPA-Rulebook.pdf) as our guide, but since this is a fun league, sportsmanship and discretion are encouraged.

League Rules prevent players from calling a ball out while it is in the air. For the courtesy of all players, if a ball is in the air and you wish to communicate with your partner not to hit it use the word "bounce" or "no" No line calls or other unnecessary comments from spectators, please! The official league ball is the Franklin X40. Please use this ball for all match play.

Make-ups for rainouts will be arranged and agreed upon by the two captains and notification of make up date and time will be provided to the  league administrator by email.  Rainout make-ups are required to be completed before the next weeks scheduled match.  Matches not completed by that time will result in a loss for both teams. The first tiebreaker in standings will be head-to-head results followed by total points.

Software- The league uses software to organize and manage the schedule, statistics and results.  All players participating in the league need to have a free account in the software to be eligible to participate in the league.  Please go to https://pickleball.global/  to create your free account if you don’t already have one.  Once all players on a teams roster have an account in the software the teams captain needs to let the league administrator know so that his team can be uploaded to the division of the league.

Thank you & Have a great season!
