Here at Pickleball Global we have 2 levels of Pickleball Certification. All of our courses are run by certified and experienced facilitators. Please see the information below about our courses:
ROPL - Recognition of Prior Learning
Here at Pickleball Global we recognise that everyone's journey to become a Pickleball Coach is different. Our aim is to provide high quality training in order to development high quality Pickleball Coaches. If you have a certification elsewhere and would like to obtain a PGA qualified, you may be entitled to credits towards your learning with PGA. Level 1: Pickleball Development Coach
Course Goal
Course Duration – 5 hours on court plus 2 hours pre course reading |
The goal of this course is to prepare participants to be able to introduce pickleball to new players in a way that is both safe and fun. Additionally, to improve some of their playing skills and understanding.
This course will be perfect for beginner pickleball players wanting to improve both their knowledge and skills. This is also the perfect course for beginner/intermediate coaches as well as school teachers looking to introduce pickleball into their curriculum. |
Key components covered in this course include:
- Making pickleball safe and fun for all participants
- How and when to introduce scoring
- Correct positions on the court when playing doubles and singles
- Planning and Executing Group and Private Lessons
- Introducing integral rules in the game of pickleball.

Assessment Process: On-court assessment plus 1 multiple choice test to be completed within 48 hours of completing the course. |
Level 2: Advanced Pickleball Coach
Course Duration – 2 full days on court plus 3 hours pre course reading |
Prior experience is necessary in order to enrol in this course:
Participants who wish to complete this course must show they understand the competencies of level 1 by providing a short 5-10 minutes coaching video displaying how they coach a small group with a skill of their choice. This video should showcase their coaching skills they have acquired. Alternatively, all coaches who complete level 1 qualify for level 2. |
During our Level 2 course we will focus on developing the teaching skills and knowledge needed for working with intermediate and advanced players in both group and private settings. Our areas of focus will include the following:
- Developing Key Coaching Concepts
- Identifying Intermediate Tactics
- Understanding Intermediate Technical Skills
- Planning and Executing Group and Private Lessons
- Building a Library of Activities to Develop Player Skills
