Welcome to the 1st Hungarian Open!
We are so excited to be able to host the 1st Hungarian Open in 2022 and we hope you are excited to come along, play and visit Budapest, one of the most beautiful capital in the World!
We are delighted to be hosting Hungarian Open at the fantastic Marczibányi Sportcentrum in the heart of Budapest, where we will have 4 courts on a hard surface.
Registration
- Registration fee (inc. 1 division) = 40 EURO
- Additional division fee = 15 EURO/Division
Registration + 1 event (40 €), Registration + 2 events (55 €), Registration + 3 events (70 €)
Tournament Schedule and Events
We are running events from Friday 12nd of August to Sunday 14th of August. Please see the schedule below for which events are running on which days.
Friday 12nd of August
- Men’s and Women’s Doubles
Saturday 13rd of August
- Men’s and Women’s Singles
Sunday 14th of August
- Mixed Doubles
· All events will be a morning round robin followed by single elimination knockout in the afternoon.
· All players are guaranteed a minimum of 4 games per event they enter.
· The tournament director reserves the right to combine categories if there are an insufficient number of entries (less than 5).
· There are limited places available in each category and players are only able to enter one skill/age category per event,
Venue Location
Marczibányi Sportcentrum, 1022, Budapest Marczibányi tér 16.
Marczibányi Sportcentrum in the heart of the city (3 kms far from city centre), which features a bar and cafe, lounge with seats for viewing, changing and bathroom facilities. There are 4 pickleball courts.
Accommodation
For this event we have not negotiated a special event rate with a specific hotel. The venue is so close to city centre, and the public transportation is perfect (next to metro line red, and tram 4/6) so you can book your hotel at the city centre. If you need help le tus know.
Covid-19
Although we appreciate that COVID-19 is still around, we will not be enforcing any vaccination or testing criteria in order to enter the Hungarian Open 2022. This is subject to change in accordance with any legislation or guidance that is implemented in between now and the event. Those travelling into Hungary should consult the entry requirements.
Tournament T&Cs
By signing the electronic signature on the registration form, you agree to the following:
· Cancellation and refund requests must be made by 11:59pm (CET) on 30th June 2022.
· Registration fees (€40) are non-refundable but division fees (€15) will be refunded up to the date of registration closing.
· Tournament director has the discretion to combine categories in the event of too few entries and also to move players between categories, and his decision is final.
· Agree to follow any Covid-19 related requirements
· Promise to follow Pickleball Hungary code of conduct and uphold Pickleball Hungary values.

Pickleball Hungary is a Not-for-profit organisation set up to promote and encourage the development of pickleball. We have run more than 10 successful tournaments with more than 100 players commenting on the efficiency of organisation and the great atmosphere of our tournaments.

My physical and mental condition was either verified by a medical doctor or at least proved during my previous sport activities, such as, but not limited to, playing various sports such as tennis, racquetball, squash, pickleball or any other aerobic sport). Herewith I confirm that I am aware of my full responsibility for all and any risks connected to any potential injury or damage that can happen to me while competing at this event. I explicitly confirm, that by my electronic signature I will not pursue any claim, damages, present and future rights of action which may be related to my participation in this event. I am also explicitly and specifically releasing and discharging myself, my heirs, executors, administrators and organizers of this event. Furthermore, I am also releasing the facility, its members, employees, sponsors and anyone who would be ever associated or connected to this event.
WAIVER/RELEASE FOR COMMUNICABLE DISEASES INCLUDING COVID-19
ASSUMPTION OF RISK / WAIVER OF LIABILITY / INDEMNIFICATION AGREEMENT
In consideration of being allowed to participate in this tournament, by completing my registration, I acknowledge, appreciate, and agree that:
1. Participation includes possible exposure to and illness from infectious diseases including but not limited to MRSA, influenza, and COVID-19. While particular rules and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious illness and death does exist; and,
2. I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES or others, and assume full responsibility for my participation; and,
3. I willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation as regards protection against infectious diseases. If, however, I observe any unusual or significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and bring such to the attention of the nearest official immediately; and,
4. I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS SS Pickleball llc their officers, officials, agents, and/or employees, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event ("RELEASEES"), WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL ILLNESS, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
